CodeX

By coders,
for coders.

A student-run computer science club at NPS. We learn in the open, build real projects, and ship them together — from first commit to demo day.

// 01 · about

A club that runs on
curiosity and commits.

[ ~/codex/about ]

CodeX started with a simple idea: the fastest way to learn to code is to build alongside people who are figuring it out with you. No gatekeeping, no prerequisites — just a room full of students turning ideas into working software.

Every week we run workshops, pair on projects, and prep for competitions. Members come in curious and leave having shipped something real — a web app, a model, a game, a tool that solves a problem they care about.

// 02 · what we do

Four things, on repeat.

01
{ }

Workshops

Hands-on sessions on the things schools skip — Git, the web stack, APIs, ML, and shipping to production.

02

Build nights

Open studio time. Bring an idea, find a team, and leave with a commit. Mentors float between tables.

03

HackWeek

Hack Week w/ CodeX is an ideathon-meets-hackathon designed for both coding and business management

04

Mentorship

Seniors pair with newcomers. Everyone has someone a step ahead to ask, review code, unblock them, and prepare them for external competitons.

Flagship event

HackWeek
w/ CodeX

A week for high-schoolers to go from blank canvas to working demo. Two tracks: Technical(build a project), or Non-Technical(pitch an idea). Food and prizes included.

Common questions.

No. CodeX is built for total beginners and experienced coders alike. If you can open a laptop and you're curious, you'll fit right in — we pair newcomers with mentors from day one.
We meet weekly on campus at NPS. Exact day, time, and room are shared with members at sign-up and posted in our community channel. Sessions alternate between workshops and open build nights.
Whatever the project needs. Most members work in Python, JavaScript, and web technologies, with detours into ML (PyTorch, MediaPipe), game dev, and more. We teach the workflow — Git, the terminal, deploying — not just one language.
Hit any "Register" button to join the hackathon. To join the club itself, use the contact link in the footer — a lead will follow up with meeting details and onboarding.
No. CodeX is free to join, and the hackathon is free to enter. We're a student club, not a paid program — everything we run is open to the NPS community.
